Can I borrow and return at any library branch?

Yes, you can use your Queanbeyan-Palerang Library membership card to borrow from Braidwood, Bungendore or Queanbeyan Libraries. You can return items at any branch. You can also request material from the Queanbeyan-Palerang Libraries to be delivered to any branch for collection.

Does the library accept donations?

Queanbeyan-Palerang Libraries is happy to receive donations, although we ask that resources are clean and in good condition. If items are not suitable for inclusion in the library collection, they are passed on to Lifeline or other charities. Please refer to the Donations Guidelines for more information.

Does the library accept books for Lifeline?

Yes, material is collected from the Queanbeyan Library on a regular basis by Lifeline Book Fair staff. However, there are limits to the amount of material we can store, and items must be in small boxes. We are only able to accept Lifeline books Monday – Thursday 2.00 pm – 4.00 pm. Please ring the library on 6285 6239 to let us know you are coming. How can I extend the loan period on my loans?

You can renew your loans by coming into any of our libraries; phoning a branch, with your card  and membership number handy; or you can renew online. (Your user ID is your membership number and your password in your date of birth ddmmyyyy). Books can be renewed up to three times and DVDs and Toys twice.

Can I borrow books from the ACT Library Service with my Queanbeyan library card or vice versa?

No, we are a separate library service to the ACT. You will need to join the Libraries ACT to access their services.

Can the library get a book for me that it does not currently hold?

Yes, you can request a book from another library service by filling out an Inter-Library Loan form in the library, or downloading here and completing, printing and bringing into the library.   There is a charge for inter-library loans.

Alternatively you can make a suggestion for the library to purchase the item by filling out a form in the library or completing online here.

Can I suggest a book purchase for the Library?

Yes, you can by completing a Suggestion for Purchase Form either in the Library or completing online here.

Can the library send a fax for me?

This facility is available at Braidwood and Bungendore Libraries, but unfortunately not at Queanbeyan Library.

Does the library have computers available for public use?

Yes, all branches have computers with internet access, plus word processing and spreadsheet programs. All Libraries also have Wi-Fi connections if you wish to bring in your own computer or device. For access to any computer service you will need your library card or ID if you are a visitor to the area.

Can I borrow without my card?

If you have forgotten to bring your card, you can still borrow, provided you have some other ID with your name and address.  However it is much quicker and easier to bring your card. 

Does the library have photocopiers?

All branches provide photocopying facilities for a fee. Black and white copies are 25c a sheet for A4 and A3. Colour copies are $1 a sheet for A4 and $1.50 for A3.
