Library news and events
The library has a changing program of events and activities happening each month.
INTERNET COACHING FOR SENIORS - is a free session where we’ll discuss the Internet and its relevance for everyday life. Learn skills such as how to find bus timetables, buy groceries online and connect with friends and family using technology. Volunteer Telstra employees will run the class which will be held at Queanbeyan Library on Thursday 22 June at 1pm. Please contact the Library on 6285 6238 to make a booking.
COLOUR MANIA - Join Queanbeyan Library's Adult Colouring-In Group. Colouring reduces stress, relaxes your mind and provides the opportunity for creativity, while enjoying a chat and the chance to learn new mediums and techniques. The meetings will be held on the first Saturday of the month from 10am-12pm and is BYOS (Bring your own supplies- books, markers, pens and pencils).
INKLINGS - The Queanbeyan Library is starting a creative writing group for young adults, called INKLINGS. It is a safe and fun environment to share ideas and participate in activities to get your creativity flowing. The group is open to ages 12-18 and will be held on the last Wednesday of every month from 3:30-4:30.
BOOK CLUB - Are you interested in books and reading? Would you like to meet other readers? The Reading Circle is the Queanbeyan Library's Book Club which meets on the first Wednesday of the month in the Library. You are most welcome to come along!
YOUTH SERVICES - Have you noticed that the Youth area in the library has changed? This 'zone' is now bigger and has comfortable bean bag chairs for individuals or groups to enjoy. Come and use the Wi-Fi or browse through the graphic novels. Everyone is welcome.
